Personal profile of Fozozh students. Online interview with candidate of legal sciences, associate professor, head. Department of Administrative Law of the Russian State University of Justice Marina Anatolyevna Shtatina Student Profile what

For many graduates, the end of school marks the beginning of a new stage in life - admission to the From Choice educational institution The future of the child largely depends on it, and therefore it must be done consciously. And the first thing you should pay attention to is not the reviews or reputation of the university, but the compliance of the chosen field of study with the institution’s profile.

Field of study at a university - what is it?

Surprisingly, when deciding where to obtain higher education, it is important to focus on professional programs. The profile of the institution determines the availability of certain disciplines in accordance with Before applying for admission to the chosen university, you must first familiarize yourself with its educational program.

So, what does the direction of preparation mean? To implement the fundamental curricula The Russian Ministry of Education and Science approved the standards, so each level of higher education today has its own Federal State Educational Standard. Accordingly, it is unacceptable to conduct undergraduate or specialist studies according to master’s or postgraduate standards. Thus, our country guarantees the functionality of the created system of professional personnel of various profiles and specializations that are needed National economy and the business sector.

The relationship between Federal State Educational Standards and specialties

Each Federal State Educational Standard provides for dozens of enlarged areas of training, which, in turn, include several specialties. For example, 11.00.00 “Electronics, communication systems and radio engineering” is a basic enlarged direction with specialties:

  • 11.03.01 “Radio engineering”.
  • 11.03.02 “Nanoelectronics”.
  • 11.03.03 “Design of electronic means.”
  • 11.03.04 “Communication and infocommunication systems.”

Profiles of directions and specializations at universities

Next we should name the division into profiles according to the focus of education provided for by federal standards. At the same time, everyone retains the right to create unique education profiles in the appropriate manner and have them approved by the Ministry.

For example, specialty profiles 01.03.04 “ Applied Mathematics» can be offered at the university as follows:

  • Providing mathematical and algorithmic systems and information technologies.
  • Mathematical methodology in information technology.
  • Applied computer science in chemistry.
  • Modeling and mathematical methods in economics.
  • Providing artificial intelligence systems and programming.

How does a profile differ from directions and specialties?

As already mentioned, the choice of the direction of training and specialty must be approached responsibly. Despite the common blocks of fundamental disciplines included in the educational program of specific specialization profiles, each of them contains unique subjects that take into account the specifics of the graduate’s future profession. That is why, when reading the list of areas of training, applicants should know that all of them can include dozens of profiles. For clarity, as an example, we should consider the specialty “Construction”, which offers options for professions in areas of construction that have nothing in common:

  • "Construction of hydraulic structures."
  • "Construction of industrial buildings."
  • “Construction of hydroelectric power stations and pumping stations.”
  • "Urban construction and economy."
  • "Real estate expertise and management."
  • “Laying roads and building airfields.”
  • "Ventilation and engineering systems."
  • "Construction and computer modeling."

How to choose the right future profession?

Thus, it is necessary to get acquainted with the educational program long before submitting documents to the university. After all, having gained an idea of the professional block of disciplines curriculum, it’s easy to guess what profession a graduate of the institution will have.

At this stage, it is important not to make a mistake with the direction of preparation and profile, respectively. Often unscrupulous applicants are often confused by the fact that the specialties have almost identical names, despite the fundamental differences in the blocks of professional disciplines. As a result, students acquire knowledge that does not correspond to their initial aspirations and plans, which means that when they leave the university they receive unequal opportunities for successful career growth.

Where can I find information about profiles and specialties at an educational institution?

A list of areas of training and specialties can be found on the official website of almost any university, but it is unlikely that you will be able to quickly find profiles and corresponding educational programs. The thing is that the statutory documents of the institution are required to publish data on quotas of budgetary and contract places in a particular specialty. The university may not detail the professional programs related to each area. At the same time, most educational institutions that have a transparent reputation do not hide their education profiles and indicate them in the “Admissions Committee” section.

This information may be contained in another section of the site. Often information about profiles is present in the description of the university itself and its structure. But if the list of areas of training and specialties of higher vocational education is open and accessible to every site visitor, information about profiles is often deliberately hidden from applicants. The reason for this may be the unpopularity and lack of demand for a certain educational program in comparison with a specialty that sounds more prestigious and attractive to applicants. Such an unscrupulous step is undoubtedly beneficial to the university.

The main differences between the specialty and the profile direction

By the way, in the context of the above, it is worth noting that the majority of applicants do not see any fundamental differences in the concepts of “direction” and “specialty” itself. In fact, these two terms don’t have much in common. The main difference is the difference in training periods. In accordance with the knowledge in the areas, bachelors and masters receive them over four and two years, respectively. Here rather we're talking about about a form of education that meets European standards and provides students with the widest range of opportunities to build a personal learning plan. Thus, by the time they graduate, students become holders of higher education diplomas, which allows them to officially find a job.

But for those graduates who would like to continue their studies to improve their qualification level or change their professional direction, there is a master's degree. Upon completion, a graduate can become the owner of two professions and two higher education diplomas.

How not to make a mistake when applying for a specific specialty?

When choosing a specialization and profile, only attentiveness and caution will protect the applicant from making a mistake. Unscrupulous educational institutions, in order to increase income, sometimes include in the list of professional programs profiles that do not correspond to their general specialization.

The most common and profitable from the point of view of the commercial delivery system educational services are the profiles “Design”, “Economics”, “Management”, “Jurisprudence”, and therefore when entering a university for which these specialties are not core, you should not lose vigilance and be on your guard - it is likely that this educational organization sets a goal to improve his financial situation.

As a rule, universities that train technologists or biologists, builders and engineers do not enroll students in areas of training that are radically different from the basic ones.

The main signs that the direction does not correspond to the profile of the university

Of course, there are exceptions to all rules, but in order not to fall for deception, it is advisable to conduct a serious analysis of the institution before submitting documents. Particular attention should be paid to the following points:

  • there are no budget places on the selected profile;
  • the number of contract places significantly exceeds other specializations;
  • a completely unique name of the profile, which is not found in other universities (this may, of course, be a sign of a unique training program at a specialized university, but it can also serve another purpose - to replace the usual content with an unusual name in order to stand out from the background).

For the most part, higher education institutions have a balance of contract and free places in a particular specialty. In-demand universities have more budget places for students rather than paid ones. The predominance of contract places in programs over free ones is a reason for additional collection of information about the quality of educational services provided in this organization.

How important is the correct choice of professional direction and specialty?

After reviewing the list of specialties and areas of higher education, remember that the university is not only a place for students to study. Each university can be called a place for accumulating knowledge, developing scientific school and the formation of new ideas about scientific and technical progress, culture and art. However, it is impossible to concentrate forces in all directions at the same time.

The activities of institutes, academies and universities, proven over decades, are based on their core profile. When deciding to enroll in a non-core educational institution, a potential student seriously risks receiving an education of an insufficiently high level. Right choice professional program and specialty - a chance to realize your dream and become what you wanted since school.

Motivation in education. Sketching the problem

Today, many students and schoolchildren do not strive to show great diligence in studying subjects. This indicates their weak motivation to learn. If you ask the students themselves, they often answer that the knowledge they receive in educational institutions do not have much practical significance, and still they will not find use for them in life, or they are simply not interested in them. This answer, heard from schoolchildren, is to some extent justified, but not so much for students of universities, colleges and other specialized institutions.

How important is this problem in general? We will answer – strongly, and we will answer why. Students are the future highly qualified employees of our country; their lack of motivation at the training stage threatens the lack of truly qualified employees, as a result of which the country's economy may lose competitiveness in the future.

In order to understand what a modern student needs, you again need to ask the question to the student himself, just ask it “correctly.” The “correct” way to ask a question could be a survey. Fortunately, we got into our hands the result of a survey conducted among students at one of the universities in Ukraine at the Department of Management. Of course, this is not a full-scale study, but nevertheless it makes it possible to at least somehow evaluate the picture.

Below is a diagram (Fig. 1) of the reasons for entering a university, conditionally divided into groups.

Rice. 1 Distribution of students into groups depending on the reasons for admission

There are 6 groups in total.

  1. “Interest” - those who applied out of interest in the specialty.
  2. “Acquaintances” - acted on the advice of parents, relatives, friends or acquaintances.
  3. “Prospects” - this specialty was considered promising.
  4. “Uncertainty” - they didn’t know where to go at all.
  5. “Prestige” - the specialty was considered prestigious.
  6. No reason given.

From such answers we can expect that only the “Interest” group should expect a desire for high grades and gaining knowledge, but fortunately we don’t need to guess, everything is shown in Fig. 2.

Rice. 2 Student performance

A small clarification should be made; during the survey process, the distribution of ratings was very conditional, so it should be considered as follows:

  • 1 is an “excellent student”;
  • 2 – “good guy”;
  • 3 – average rating is satisfactory, sometimes there are “good” ratings;
  • 4 – practically a “poor student”.

These values were then averaged to produce the diagram shown in Fig. 2.

Based on the results, it is clear that even those who entered the university out of their own interest do not study with excellent marks. As a result, it should be noted that there are only ¼ of all students, which is undoubtedly a small number.

So, let’s summarize what can change this situation. Today, HE is unofficially mandatory, which is why everyone goes to universities, which is not entirely the right approach. More attention should be paid to the motivation of students, and not based on the definition that they are initially so. Actually, these are the most important conclusions.

Motivation in education. Student motivational profile

The last article discussed the problem of motivation in education and roughly what students want, but there is not enough general data to build a proper system for stimulating students. So, the task is determine specifically what students want in order to further build an incentive system.

For this task, it is necessary to determine a tool with which you can solve the problem. A motivational profile was chosen as such a tool. So first of all, what is a motivational profile?

Motivational profile is an individual combination of a person’s motivating factors. This definition was put forward after studying the work of S. Ritchie and P. Martin “Motivation Management”. This work is the result of their 20-year study of motivation among management personnel. As part of their study, they used a motivational profile model consisting of 12 factors. Based on the definition of the motivational profile, it turns out that it consists of n-factors motivating the individual, but to build some kind of general picture, an adequate model should be adopted for the study group and depending on the purpose of the study.

Based on the previous article, the group under study is students of the management department of one of the universities in Ukraine, the purpose of the study is to identify the factors of their motivation. S. Ritchie and P. Martin had a similar group in their study, so the model they established was chosen.

  1. The need for high earnings, material rewards and material benefits.
  2. The need for comfortable physical conditions work.
  3. Need for structured work feedback and information about one’s own work, reducing the degree of uncertainty associated with work.
  4. The need for social contacts, at the level of easy communication with a wide range of people.
  5. The need for stable, long-term relationships with a small group of people.
  6. The need for recognition of merit, the acquisition of social significance.
  7. The need to achieve and set challenging goals for oneself.
  8. The need to influence and exert control over others.
  9. The need for variety and change, that is, the desire to constantly feel stimulating interest.
  10. The need for autonomy, independence and self-improvement of one’s personality.
  11. The need for creativity and open-mindedness.
  12. The need for interesting and useful work for society.

If you carefully study this model, it may resemble A. Maslow’s fragmented pyramid, only without observing order.

Using the survey data, a diagram was constructed (Fig. 1) of the importance of each factor according to the selected model.

Rice. 1 Motivational profile of a university student

How to read a chart? Below are written in order the motivational factors from the model we have chosen, the height of the columns depends on the average value according to all answers to respondents reflecting this question, 0 means an absolute lack of interest in this factor, 3 means an excellent desire for this factor, respectively, the higher the bar, the more important it is. Also on the diagram you can find a dotted line; it is conditional and means that factors that have a value below it can not even be considered. The error is about 12-13%.

Based on the diagram, four main motivating points can be distinguished:

  • money;
  • comfortable conditions;
  • maintaining relationships with loved ones;
  • the opportunity to carry out creative activities.

So, we have a detailed portrait of a student’s motivation; all that remains is to build a system for stimulating him, which we will do in the next article.

Stimulation- This is an external way of influencing a person’s motivation. An incentive in education should increase the motivation to learn in those who receive this education. It is this issue that will be covered in the final article of the “Motivation in Education” series.

Introduction. In 2015, the Republic of Belarus joined the European Higher Education Area. The Bologna Agreements provide for individual choice of “learning path” by students, and this largely depends on their individual characteristics.

The success of professional training of future physical education teachers is determined by the need to take into account the individual psychological characteristics of the individual’s personality, the level of motivation, the functioning of mental processes, life manifestations of basic properties nervous system, temperament, character of students. Usually in classes they try to solve problems through a system of external influences, setting students the optimal norm of physical activity. However, a significant drawback is that this does not take into account the individual and personal characteristics of those involved.

The basis of differentiation educational process must take into account the individual characteristics of the individual in order to organize training not so much according to various programs and plans, but rather the application various means, methods, methodological techniques for selected groups and individual students.

Most often in the process of physical education, the option of relative individualization is used, when the individual characteristics of not each individual student are taken into account, but of groups with similar characteristics and their complexes. According to L.V. Diorditsa, B.P. Yakovlev’s organization of education based on a person-centered approach means that all methodological decisions of the teacher should be refracted through the prism of the student’s personality.

Therefore, it was decided to identify the personal profiles of students from the Faculty of Organization healthy image life (FOZOZH) Polessky state university with different levels of knowledge.

factor A: sociability - isolation;
factor B: high intelligence - low intelligence;
factor C: emotional stability - emotional instability;

factor E: dominance - subordination;
factor F: expressiveness - restraint;
factor G: responsibility - dishonesty;
factor H: courage - timidity;
factor I: sensitivity - rigidity;
factor L: suspicion - gullibility;
factor M: daydreaming - practicality;
factor N: prudence - straightforwardness;
factor O: anxiety - self-confidence;
factor Qi: radicalism - conservatism;
factor Q2: independence - dependence on the group;
factor Q3: high self-control - low self-control;
factor Q4: tension - relaxation.

The maximum score for each factor is 12 points, for factor B - 8 points. When interpreting data, attention is paid, first of all, to the “peaks” of the profile, that is, the lowest and highest values of factors, especially those indicators that in the “negative” pole are within the range of 1 to 4 points, and in the “positive” pole - from 7 to 10 points.

Rice. Personal profiles of 4th year ALF students with different levels of knowledge

A total of 110 4th year students of the FHL of Polesie State University were examined. According to the results examination sessions We have identified groups: with a high level of knowledge - GPA passing exams from 8 to 10 (n=16); medium level of knowledge - average exam score from 5 to 8 (n=64) and low level of knowledge - average exam score less than 5 points (n=30) and determine the average personality profile and their differences in these groups (Figure).

Analyzing the presented material, one can notice that for most factors, students of all groups do not differ significantly. What struck us most was that the profiles of groups with high and low levels of knowledge practically have the same configuration. In these groups, there is a “positive” peak on factor L (distrustful, stubborn, cautious in actions, more immersed in one’s own “I”, less concerned about other people) and two “negative” peaks on factor I (independent, practical, has a feeling responsibility) and the Qi factor (conservative, tolerant of traditional difficulties, convinced of the correctness of what he was taught). Students in the group with a high level of knowledge are superior to everyone in factor A (ease of communication, willingness to cooperate, preference for socially significant activities), factor C (greater emotional stability, activity, sobriety in assessing reality). In the group of students with an average level of knowledge, a smoother profile is observed, having peaks only in factor O (anxious, especially in difficult situations, worried) and factor Q1.

Conclusion. results this study confirm the existing opinion that one cannot focus only on average group indicators. As we can see from the figure, students achieve success or failure with similar individual psychological characteristics. We in no way deny the need and importance of a differentiated approach. If there is a clear tendency for success to depend on one or another indicator, for example, on the level of development of physical qualities, then why not combine students into groups with a low or high level of development of conditioning abilities. In a study on 4th year students of the FLS of Poles State University, such a pattern in personal qualities was not found. This means that it is necessary to take into account the individual characteristics of each student to a greater extent. Although this is very difficult, it cannot be avoided; teachers must take into account individual characteristics and offer students accessible tasks, that is, individualize the process of training and education.

We continue the series of interviews with experts from various fields of law and economics who are ready to help students go through the difficult path of choosing a professional profile.

This time I volunteered to help the students: candidate of legal sciences, associate professor, head. Marina Anatolyevna Shtatina, Department of Administrative Law of the Russian State University of Justice. She spoke about one of the profiles in demand in the labor market - in the field of administrative and legal regulation.

ConsultantPlus: Please tell us how students at your university choose a department, which, as we understand, determines the choice of profile? How much time are they given to think and make a decision? Do departments provide assistance to students when choosing a specialization and what does this assistance consist of?

Statina Marina Anatolyevna: At the Russian State University of Justice, students choose one of three profiles - state law, civil law or criminal law. A more in-depth study of administrative law and disciplines related to administrative legal regulation is carried out, first of all, in the state legal profile. However, other students continue to study the norms and institutions of administrative law. Thus, the Code of Administrative Proceedings is studied on the civil law profile Russian Federation, a number of administrative procedures (for example, for state registration legal entities and individual entrepreneurs) and administrative contracts, and on the criminal law profile the issues of distinguishing between crimes and administrative offenses are clarified. This approach fully reflects the features of modern administrative law, which actively interacts with other legal branches and is inextricably linked with everyday life society and every person.

Students choose a major in the first semester of the second year, but can change their decision during the second year of study. The study of specialized (variable) disciplines at our university begins in the second semester of the third year.

Both teachers and dean's office staff help students choose a profile - they never refuse consultations on issues of interest to students. In this case, both general consultations are carried out for the entire course, as well as individual conversations with any student who applies to the department. Widespread conferences and round tables at our university on various problems of the development of science and law enforcement practice contribute to the correct (and for each student it is his own) choice.

ConsultantPlus: Is there “voluntariness” in choosing a department? If the majority of students express a desire to specialize in one department, does the administration take any steps in this case?

Statina Marina Anatolyevna: Law students full-time Students studying in the bachelor's program have to choose only from three profiles, so there have been no problems with forming groups so far, and the principle of voluntariness is strictly observed. At the same time, several groups of students can be recruited for one profile, depending on the number of applications submitted. However, local regulations establish the rule that if there is no minimum required number of students who have expressed a desire to choose elective disciplines of the same profile, it will not be opened.

ConsultantPlus: What do you think students should be guided by when choosing a profile? What should they pay attention to first of all: their interest in a particular area of law, its popularity or prospects?

Statina Marina Anatolyevna: When choosing a profile, you should consider each of the factors you mentioned. But, in my opinion, the most important thing is that the student likes the subjects that he will have to study further. A bachelor's profile is not a specialty or even a specialization in which specialists are trained. The main purpose of the profile is not so much the acquisition of knowledge as its deepening and the development of skills in its application, including through the transformation of theoretical knowledge into legal and reasonable decisions, acceptable and appropriate in certain situations. The profile does not limit the student, but develops him, helping him gain the skills necessary in any professional activity lawyer. An optimal solution to these problems is possible only with the personal interest of the student.

But it also happens that a student does not have clearly defined professional interests and preferences. In this case, you need to try to determine what types of legal activities associated with a particular profile are consonant with the aspirations, value guidelines, as well as personal characteristics, including the student’s temperament. Thus, the study of administrative law requires research very large number acts and documents, which are also constantly changing and supplemented. Students who are slow and not focused on overcoming difficulties in-depth study administrative law will put you in a position of choice: either constantly experience discomfort, or change and become more resilient and purposeful.

I would least recommend paying attention to the popularity of a certain profession or field of knowledge. Many people enter the popular field, and as a result, huge competition is created there. If you become a unique specialist in this area, you will be able to achieve success. But if you dreamed of a different field or, due to your personal characteristics, were inclined towards a different activity, then in a popular field that has not become close to you, you are more likely to fail.

ConsultantPlus: What happens after a student chooses your department? What does this choice mean: in-depth study of some disciplines, writing a thesis, or performing some other work?

Statina Marina Anatolyevna: The choice of state legal profile assumes that the student will study in depth constitutional, municipal and administrative law and such special disciplines, such as administrative procedures, administrative offenses, migration law.

At our university, bachelors, unlike students studying in specialty programs, theses they don't write.

ConsultantPlus: What does this choice give the student in the future? Does the choice of profile affect subsequent employment? Does this choice mean that future specialist can he work only in this area? How much is an administrative law specialist valued in Russia today compared to other legal specialists?

Statina Marina Anatolyevna: Once again I want to emphasize that at present the choice of profile does not limit the student in any way, since when applying for a job, he has knowledge of the specialty (law), and not the field of study. However, competitive selection, practiced by many private organizations and in many cases mandatory for admission to public service, dictates the appropriate conditions.

Currently, many graduates strive to get into the public service, and there they need knowledge of administrative law. All private organizations interact with government agencies and officials, so specialists who are ready for such professional interaction receive corresponding advantages. The Code of Administrative Procedure of the Russian Federation was recently adopted and entered into force, which also raised a number of questions for judicial practice. There is currently a shortage of administrative law specialists.

State and municipal employees must have appropriate education and undergo vocational training or retraining related to public administration and administrative law. All ministries require specialists who are proficient in the preparation of legal acts of management.

ConsultantPlus: What character traits do you think a specialist who has chosen this profile? Who do you think should not be a lawyer?

Statina Marina Anatolyevna: Individuals who successfully engage in the areas of public law have a special mindset, characterized by the ability to see general patterns and identify common interests.

ConsultantPlus: How do you feel about modern information technology? Do you think an administrative law lawyer needs to know legal reference systems? Why?

Statina Marina Anatolyevna: A lawyer specializing in the study of administrative law must constantly refer to the information contained in reference books. legal systems. It is currently impossible to master or systematize the huge volume of legal regulation manually. In addition, administrative law is not limited to the letter of the law, but also studies its application by executive authorities and courts.

ConsultantPlus: What advice would you give to your students and students from other universities who have chosen an administrative profile? What should they prepare for, what qualities of character should they develop, who should they focus on in the profession, what disciplines should they focus on Special attention to become a successful lawyer in the future?

Statina Marina Anatolyevna: For those who choose an in-depth study of administrative law and prepare themselves for managerial activities, qualities such as empathy and the desire to understand a person are very important. Since it is difficult to find a branch of law that would change as rapidly as administrative law, I would wish everyone who chooses a public legal profile to develop the strength and flexibility of mind in order to be ready not only to respond to the challenges of the time, but to anticipate and shape them .

I sincerely wish all law students high goals, clear thoughts, a strong character, and a positive attitude.
