Latest reviews from RTU MIREA

Anonymous review 18:21 10/01/2018

The work of the various departments is simply terrible. We will talk specifically about the graduate school department on the MIREA campus. The employees of this department always say “come on such and such a day for documents,” and as a result, upon arrival on the appointed day, they postpone it to another, and this can happen several times in a row. But the most annoying thing is that you ask for time off from work, drive from the other end of Moscow to make it during their “busy” hours, and when you arrive, it turns out that there is a piece of paper hanging on their door with the text that in connection with the... .

For me personally, MIREA is a place where you can get a higher diploma without really straining yourself. This educational institution allows you to do anything: work, self-study, leisure... (IT) - institute information technologies, specialty information systems and technology. There are a lot of groups, if everyone comes to lectures at once you will sit on the floor, seriously. The building is large inside, it looks nice, but if you look closely, everything is cracking, or even cracking at the seams. In the lecture halls there are good old benches...

In 2016, the number of paid places is not limited (the approximate admission plan may be increased), therefore, everyone will be enrolled on a contractual basis without competition. The cost of training is fixed for the entire period of study, payment is made by semester (half of the annual cost of training), however, installments or payment using maternity capital are possible.

You can submit an application or make adjustments to an existing one (for example, choose another specialty for study on a contractual basis with a discount) until August 19. To enroll, you must sign a contract and pay for the first semester of study by the end of August. You can conclude an agreement on weekdays from 10:00 to 17:00 at 78 Vernadskogo Avenue or st. Stromynka, 20 or in branches. For minor applicants, the presence of parents or legal representatives is required.

The procedure for enrollment in full-time and part-time forms specialty training and areas of bachelor's training.

Materials from the meeting with applicants, which took place on July 27: video recording and a presentation explaining the enrollment procedure.

July 27 Competitive selection begins and competitive lists are published: lists of applicants, ranked in descending order of the amount of points scored.

You can assess your chances of admission yourself on the Admissions Committee website in the “Competition lists” section. Your position must be assessed in lists sorted by original and first priority. Please note that the competition situation changes daily.

A prerequisite for admission is the submission of the original before August 3 (subject to participation in the first stage of enrollment) or August 6 (subject to participation in the second stage of enrollment). You can submit the original on weekdays from 10:00 to 19:00 (you must have a passport and a receipt for accepting documents with you).

On August 3 and 6, the Admissions Committee is open until 18.00 (August 1, the Admissions Office is open until 15.00,
August 2 - not working).

The originals are issued at the address: Vernadskogo Ave., 78 at 17:00 (if submitting an application to request documents before 15:00) or at 10:00 the next day (if submitting an application after 15:00).

Please note that for a number of areas there is a separate competition for applicants based on vocational education(for one entrance test): the number of places for this category of applicants is determined in proportion to the number of applications submitted.

July 30- orders for the enrollment of applicants within the admission quota will be published on the website and information stands:

  • having special rights,
  • no exams
  • to the places reserved for target set.

All unoccupied places for applicants within the quotas will be transferred to open admission, that is, the number of budget places may increase.

The admission procedure for applicants on a general basis consists of 2 stages:

Stage 1:

At the first stage, applicants will be enrolled in 80% of budget places. To participate in the 1st stage of enrollment, you must submit it to the Admissions Committee by August 3 inclusive. script educational document. Admission is carried out based on the sum of points from among the applicants who submitted the original.

That is, if there are 10 budget places in the direction, then at the first stage 8 applicants will be enrolled with highest scores from among those who submit the original before August 3.

This year there is no list of recommended ones: even applicants with low scores have a chance to be admitted to the university, provided they submit the original. However, even if you are first on the competition list, we will not be able to enroll you with a copy.

The original is submitted to the university, and not to a specific direction/specialty, and upon admission you are considered in the order of your specified priorities. If you do not pass the points for budget places in the first priority, you will be considered and may be enrolled in the second or third priority. There is no need to “shift” the original from direction to direction or write additional statements - selection committee will do this for you automatically.

August 4- orders for enrollment at the first stage will be published on the website and information stands.

Stage 2:

At the second stage of admission, admission to the remaining 20% of budget places is possible; admission is carried out in the same way as the first stage of admission.
To participate in the 2nd stage of enrollment, you must submit to the Admissions Committee before August 6 script educational document. If you provided the original to the University earlier, but were not enrolled at stage 1, then you automatically participate in stage 2 of enrollment.

At the second stage, only accepted applicants are eliminated from the competitive list, that is, you can choose which stage of enrollment to take part in.
If you were enrolled in priority 2 or 3 at the first stage, then you continue to participate in the competition for budget places at a higher priority in the second stage without losing the place for which you were enrolled.

August 7- orders for enrollment in the second stage will be published on the website and information stands.

Please note that the need for a dormitory does not affect the results of enrollment: the competition for places in a dormitory is held separately, that is, you can qualify for a competition for budget places, but not get a dormitory and vice versa. The competition for places in the hostel will be held within the framework of the quotas allocated for the institutes, therefore, when entering specialties with lower competition, the chances of getting a hostel are much higher. Information about the allocation of a place will be indicated in the enrollment order.

If you want to be enrolled only if a place in a dormitory is provided (for example, for a lower priority), then to do this you must submit to the Admissions Committee an application for exclusion from the competition in case of non-provision of a place in a dormitory.

Enrollment on a contractual basis ends on August 31, 2015. To enroll in paid places, you must provide the following to the admissions committee:

  • original document of education or consent to enrollment (with a certified copy of the education document attached);
  • 3 copies of the agreement on the provision of paid educational services, signed by the applicant;
  • a copy of the paid receipt for the 1st semester of study.

Please note that this year, for a number of full-time study areas, a 15% discount is provided at the expense of the University, provided that the contract is concluded before July 24 or 1-3 points are missing from the budget pass. The cost of training (including discounts) is fixed for the entire duration of training.

Even if you are admitted on a contractual basis, you continue to participate in the competition for budget places, and if accepted, the money will be returned minus the bank commission.

It is also possible to accommodate in the dormitories of other partner universities of RTU MIREA.

* Attention! The cost is indicated for dormitories of MIREA - Russian University of Technology. When staying in dormitories of partner universities, the cost of living may vary and amount to up to 1,000 rubles per month.

In accordance with the decisions of the Academic Council of RTU MIREA, a quota for the provision of places in the University dormitories is established annually for first-year students at all levels of education (secondary vocational education, bachelor's, specialty, master's, postgraduate).
Places in dormitories are provided to nonresident full-time (full-time) students on a competitive basis (based on competitive scores upon admission), taking into account the benefits provided by law Russian Federation, within the allocated quotas.

Quotas for places in dormitories in 2019:

  • Secondary education programs - 0 places
  • Bachelor's and specialist's programs - 400 places, including for applicants with a set entrance examinations:
    • Russian language, mathematics, computer science and ICT - 157 places
    • Russian language, mathematics, physics - 129 places
    • Russian language, mathematics, chemistry - 92 places
    • Russian language, mathematics, geography - 2 places
    • Russian language, mathematics, social studies - 6 places
    • Russian language, history, social studies - 8 places
    • Russian language, mathematics, creative exam - 4 places
    • Russian language, social studies, creative exam - 2 places
  • Master's programs - 150 places
  • Postgraduate programs - 0 places
  • Quota for foreign citizens- 200 seats
The hostel can only be provided to persons registered at least 85 km away from the official Russian Railways mileage. The dormitory is NOT provided to persons studying on a contract basis.

Places are filled in stages:

  • For applicants within quotas
  • For those enrolled at stage 1
  • For those enrolled at stage 2

Thus, the chances of getting a place in a dormitory at the first stage are maximum, since at the second stage there may not be enough places even for applicants with high scores.

The need for a hostel does not affect the results of enrollment: the competition for a place is held separately. That is, an applicant can pass on budget points, but his points will not be enough to get a place in a dormitory. Exclusion from the competition for budget places is possible only if the applicant does not have enough points to obtain a place in the dormitory and in the application for consent to enrollment he indicated that he refuses to enroll if a place is not provided.

Information about the provision of hostel accommodation is indicated in the enrollment order. Information about check-in to the dormitory is published in the “Information for Enrollees” section.
