Paragliding training. Introductory course to paragliding. You need to learn to fly only in a good paragliding club or school

The training program at the club includes 30 solo flights + 1-2 tandem flights. Tandem flights with an instructor are carried out on initial stage, to consolidate independent paraglider control skills.

Some people ask: How long will my training last?

I answer: The first 1-2 lessons are carried out through basic training with a paraglider. Until complete mastery of management skills. Next, the pilot begins to make independent paragliding flights. This is no more than 8 flights per day. Doesn't make sense anymore, because... Nervous and physical stress will not allow the novice pilot to learn more, but will only waste his flights. On average this is 5-6 flights. Accordingly, 30 flights is about 5 days.

Paragliding flights are carried out only on weekends in the absence of precipitation and strong winds.
Based on the above, you need about 6-7 flight days (weekends with good weather). As a rule, this is about 1-1.5 months.

In the off-season (autumn, winter or spring), theory is studied and theoretical exams in paragliding are passed.

Based on the results of successfully passing the exams, cadets receive flight documents. Also, upon request, an international pilot license is issued - FAI (International Federation of Aviation Sports) for flying abroad.

  • What is included in the cost of paragliding training:
  • Ground training (10 hours, then 250 rubles/hour)
  • 1-2 tandem flights with an instructor (for introduction)
  • 30 solo flights (max. 8 flights per day)
  • rental of equipment for the entire duration of training
  • theoretical classes
  • exams in theory and practice (retake is paid)

obtaining flight documents

The cost of a paragliding training course is 40,000 rubles. You can pay by the day, 8,000 rubles per day. But if you pay for the entire paragliding training course at once, there is a 27% discount.

The club was officially registered in 1995 in the OF SLA Russia. Subsequently, it underwent re-registration and came under the jurisdiction of ROSTO (now DOSAAF again). During the existence of our club, several hundred cadets were trained there. We have accumulated vast experience in training “young” pilots. With the cadets of our club are taught by experienced instructors with extensive experience.

  • Classes are held all year round. A break is only taken during the off-season (autumn and spring), when it is impossible to go to the field due to mud.
  • Classes are conducted individually , therefore, the lesson time is chosen by the student himself, of which he must notify the instructor in advance.
  • Classes are held every weekend. A break is made only due to weather conditions (strong wind and/or rain).

The paragliding training program for the Beginner Pilot program is based on Task 1 of KULP-SD 87.

After completing the paragliding training course under the “Beginner Pilot” program and successfully passing the theoretical exam and practical exam, the cadet is assigned the third sports rank.

In our classes we use equipment certified according to international safety standards. This equipment is designed specifically for novice pilots. All club cadets fly with radio communication, which ensures even greater safety.

Flights are carried out on a winch

For those wishing to continue advanced training, there are several programs. One of the most popular programs SIV course (in-flight incident simulation course). This course allows the pilot to safely work out emergency situations that may occur during the flight due to deteriorating weather conditions. For safety, this course is conducted with a large margin of height and over water (Türkiye Oludeniz or Abkhazia Gagra). A large headroom, in case of an error, gives more time to correct it. But if the pilot does not have time to correct his mistake (which happens extremely rarely), then splashdown is less traumatic than landing in an abnormal mode. The paragliding course is conducted in the warm season, which excludes swimming in cold water.

All pilots complete it with a reserve parachute and radio communication.

Before each flight, a briefing on the flight mission is carried out, and a boat with rescuers is on duty below (in case of splashdown). full course initial training in paragliding.

Another of the advanced training courses is conducted by the club on trips to Bulgaria (in August) and Yutsa (Pyatigorsk).

The Bulgarian course is designed for pilot training to fly and work in thermal updrafts (thermals) -

  • Introductory course in paragliding (3 flights in tandem (3rd flight can be independent), ground training for 2 days) - 10,000 rubles (altitude 250-400m);

Paragliding is the simplest form of flight, so anyone can try it. It is enough to find a hill, take a good run, jump and fly while controlling the wing. But everything is not as simple as it may seem. If you want this kind of entertainment to bring pleasure, you need paragliding training in Moscow. Otherwise there is a risk of serious injury.

How to get started with paragliding

Classes involve theoretical and practical training. You won't have to listen to lectures for long. You will learn how a paraglider works and the features of flight performance. It also implies a review of video and photographic materials on paragliding.

Much more attention is paid to practice. First you will exercise on the simulator. You will study the features of the suspension system, develop the habit of immediately fastening the locks, and sitting down according to the rules.

Practicing management skills plays a significant role aircraft. You will learn how to transfer weight correctly, learn about how control can be performed, and practice making turns. Training on a special simulator is carried out even when several flights have already been completed. This is necessary to improve management skills.

You will fly 3 training flights with an instructor. As part of this course, independent paragliding flight is possible.

Task for 1st flight: You and your instructor will fly together in tandem. The instructor independently performs takeoff, climb and landing. During the flight, control is transferred to you under the guidance of an instructor. You will try straight flight, turns, weight and brake control and other interesting exercises.

In the second flight, you independently control the paraglider at altitude and make a landing approach. In addition, you control the paraglider under the guidance of an instructor during climb and landing.

On the third flight, you control the paraglider as independently as possible. The instructor only performs the actual takeoff of the wing, and then you perform the entire flight until landing on your own under the supervision of the instructor. At the discretion of your instructor and flight director, the third flight with an instructor may be replaced by an independent flight.

Requirements for students

Introduction to paragliding involves many lessons at various flying sites in Moscow and the region, so there should be no health problems.

Other requirements include:

  • the student must be at least 16 years old;
  • readiness for physical activity is important;
  • there should be no problems with the cardiovascular system.

There are also requirements for clothing.

You will need:

  • jacket or shirt with long sleeves;
  • overalls or trousers made of thick material - for example, loose jeans;
  • mountain boots or sneakers;
  • gloves.

Sometimes paragliding training in Moscow is held in quite windy places, so it is better to take a sweater or jacket with you to avoid getting cold.

Paragliding is a sport that anyone can do. There are no strict requirements for those who want to try their hand at flying. All you need is the desire to get off the ground, and experienced instructors will only help make this a reality.

The low gliding speed (20-70 km/h) is perfect for your first acquaintance with the sky, especially if you don’t yet dare to board the plane.

What awaits me?

Free planning at an altitude of up to 450 m. Technically, the paraglider rises to 5000 m, but tandem flights take place at a low altitude so that the passenger can enjoy the views. The paraglider is constantly descending, but if an upward flow of warm air gets in the way, it will soar upward. If desired, the pilot will demonstrate safe aerobatics - swing the wing or twist the spiral.

By selecting a certificate for pair flight on a paraglider and paramotor, an adventure for two in the sky awaits you. It all happens like this: the first passenger, in tandem with an instructor, rises on a paramotor cart. And then he watches from above as the second person on the tandem paraglider, using a winch, rises to the same height. The duration of the flight on a paramotor is 10-15 minutes, on a paraglider - 5-10 minutes. Duration depends on weather conditions.

For high altitude flights will fit summer days, when the earth is warmed up and warm air rushes upward, forming upward thermal currents (season: summer). In such a flow, a paraglider can gain altitude literally “to the clouds” and fly for many kilometers. The steaming will last from 10 minutes or longer. Unfortunately, “soaring” weather does not happen every day, even in summer time years, and it is impossible to guarantee 100% entry into the flow. Therefore, this flight can be replaced by 2 regular flights.

Master class "Paragliding" includes ground training of 4-5 hours and 1 flight in tandem with an instructor; if you have sufficient training and have mastered the necessary knowledge, 2 independent flights on a single-seat paraglider under the radio control of an instructor.

Flight with aerial acrobatics can be recommended for extreme sports and adrenaline lovers (season: summer). Your pilot will not "fly in a straight line", but will perform several acrobatic maneuvers. The passenger will feel what an overload is, sometimes the overall speed of the paraglider will increase to 100 km/h, above your head you will see not the sky, but... the earth. Acrobatic figures are selected by the pilot based on weather conditions and the weight of the passenger; for safety, stunts are performed at an altitude of more than 100 m.

On average, the flight lasts 10 minutes.
On average - because the duration of the flight is affected by wind speed, the presence/absence of updrafts and aerobatics (it eats up the altitude, bringing the paraglider closer to the ground).

Do you need training for a flight?

Before the paraglider is in the sky, the pilot and passenger will have to run a little across the field. Here are a few rules: wear comfortable shoes without heels and with grooved soles, choose clothes according to the weather, and in sunny weather, take sunglasses and cream with you. And listen to the pilot's commands. Nothing complicated.

How it works?

The paraglider resembles a wing parachute, but there are differences: the paraglider has a longer canopy, you do not need to jump from the plane, and it is equipped with a seat with girths that fix the body. For takeoff, a towing system is used: the winch pulls a cable attached to the passenger. When the altitude is reached, the cable unfastens - off we go!

Who is it suitable for?

The weight and height of the passenger do not matter. Another thing is age. At all paradromes, only people over 18 are allowed to fly. People after operations, as well as with diseases of the cardiovascular/nervous system or musculoskeletal system are not allowed to fly. Pregnant women are also not allowed to fly.

On a note:

Paragliding flights in the Moscow region take place during the warm season on weekends, subject to favorable weather conditions. The exception is the Voronovo parade ground, where flights are conducted all year round. By choosing a paragliding flight as a gift, you can arrange an original date. Imagine you are floating smoothly nearby and enjoying the breathtaking beauty.

The certificate is valid for 8 months. It is imperative to take into account the seasonality of the provision of services and the conditions for their implementation (for example, favorable weather conditions, schedule, etc.), which is agreed upon with the organizers when registering.

Delivery of gift certificates for a paragliding flight is free within the Moscow Ring Road on the next day after ordering. .

Book a flight

Since its inception, humanity has looked to the sky, dreaming of flight. Modern achievements of civilization would seem to have fulfilled this dream. We have airplanes and helicopters that can lift us to unimaginable heights and transport us over vast distances in a matter of hours. But all this pales in comparison with the sensations that a person experiences for the first time. There is no cockpit, no windows, no hum of engines, only the wind and an absolute feeling of freedom, the feeling of flight. And to achieve this, you need to take a paragliding training course.

What is a paraglider

A paraglider is very similar in appearance to a parachute, but has several significant differences. Its wing is much longer with a smoother surface, unlike a parachute wing, which is divided into special sections, due to which the fall is slowed down. The paraglider does not fall, but rather flies using rising air currents. Having caught the flow, an experienced pilot can stay in the air for hours, and sometimes even higher, and can cover distances of hundreds of kilometers from the take-off point.

Who is eligible for paragliding?

Paragliding is a very democratic sport that is accessible to most people. The paragliding school accepts children from the age of 16 (with parental consent, from 18 it is no longer required), there are quite elderly people who are seriously passionate about this sport, not to mention young boys and girls. Such flights do not impose serious requirements on physical training, it is enough to have good coordination and reaction of an average person, and, of course, it is imperative and simply necessary to undergo training in a specialized school. Self-training in paragliding is unacceptable, because in case of even the slightest mistake, not only the health, but also the life of the pilot will be at stake.

How to learn to fly

Learning to fly is not as difficult as it might seem at first glance. First you need to come to a flight school whose specialization is paragliding training.

Paragliding training is divided into several stages. Of course, no one will be allowed into the sky right away. First, future paragliders go through theoretical course in aerodynamics, where they study and how to use them.

Types of air flow

A dynamic air flow, or speaker, occurs at some natural elevation, for example, a high and steep hill or a steep bank with a strong wind blowing in its direction. The air mass, encountering an obstacle on its way, is forced to rise upward, thus creating an upward flow. Speakers are often used by inexperienced pilots and when training newbies, as they are easily predictable, their location is always easy to determine and they form at any time of the year. But along with the obvious advantages, such flows also have their disadvantages: the height of the rise is small (maximum two heights of the slope), binding to one territory (i.e. the paraglider cannot fly far from the slope), the need for strong wind, when it subsides the flow disappears.

The second type of upward air flow is thermal. It occurs in sunny summer weather. The sun is heating up earth's surface unevenly due to its heterogeneity, over warmer areas the air rises faster and a thermal flow, or thermal, appears. Paragliding using thermals will be very high, up to the clouds or even higher, in addition, the pilot can change one flow to another, flying huge distances. But this type of flow is more difficult to handle, more unpredictable and is only used by experienced paragliders. In addition, such flights in Russia are only available in summer, when solar activity is at its peak; thermals do not form in winter.

Having studied the equipment, future athletes understand the theory difficult situations that may arise during the flight, because by simulating various difficulties on the ground and solving them, they will be able to save their lives if such problems arise in the air.

Ground training

Ground training is one of the most important parts of paragliding training. The beginner learns to lift the canopy from the ground, feel its behavior in the wind, and the reaction of the wing to being filled with air.

Simple aerobatics

Paragliding requires the ability to land exactly at the intended location. Therefore, in the flight training program there is a special exercise called “target landing”. Thanks to this exercise, the athlete learns to calculate the trajectory of his wing and correct it in time. Until he learns to land exactly on target, he will not be allowed to the next stage.

Complex aerobatics

At the stage of complex aerobatics, students perform two main exercises - intensive maneuvering and turning the canopy of the paraglider. Paragliding is a little stressful for a beginner. After all, the earth is not always strictly under your feet, but the sky is above your head. During the first exercise, the body and vestibular apparatus get used to new conditions. The athlete makes turns, bends, and creates sharp rolls. The second exercise is designed to practice the situation of folding the dome with a sharp change in the characteristics of the ascending air flow. Having worked out this situation to the point of automaticity under normal conditions, he can effortlessly cope with it in a soaring flight.

Floating in the air flow

Paragliding involves precisely flying or soaring, and not descending from any height to the ground. Of course, this stage of paragliding training is the most enjoyable for future pilots, but also the most responsible. They are taught to fly for long periods of time, to fly in a group and to fly in a thermal flow.

If everything is more or less clear with the first point, then the second point causes a lot of unpleasant moments for beginners. After all, they began their training while in the air alone, but here there are several pilots at once, sometimes moving along different trajectories.

Having learned to fly in a dynamic flow, pilots gradually test their skills by flying in thermals in the mornings, when the flow has not reached its full strength and the bumpiness is not as active as at noon. Having become accustomed to the turbulence of the thermal flow, the pilot can begin to fly on the route. This is where his training ends and he continues to increase his experience on his own.

Thus, it is accessible to everyone and, having completed flight training, anyone can take to the skies and experience the indescribable sensations of flight.
